Balance

Most people find visual balance beautiful. Balance is an important idea in all kinds of art and design and in mathematics.

Balance is obvious when an image is symmetrical. But groups of different objects may balance without being perfectly symmetrical. Artists and designers often like to have visual balance but not to making it too obvious. In sculpture, balancing weights can be important too.
