Foreshortening
The American rock band OK Go make music videos that play visual games. Their video for The Writing’s on the Wall features anamorphic techniques. Look at the video on YouTube to see which you spot:
An example of foreshortening is 3 minutes 28 seconds into the video. It looks like the band are standing in a line, but in fact three of them aren’t there at all. Instead, huge photos of them are laid out on the floor and up the wall. The band’s website has an interactive plan of the studio that links to behind-the-scenes films. Number 18 shows how the projections for this shot were many times bigger than the real people.
